In this section I will be describing techniques and methods that I have found to be successful in keeping and reproducing panther chameleons in captivity. I have no doubt that there are other keepers and breeders whose methods differ to mine but may work just as effectively.
There is still much knowledge to gain with regards to the needs of chameleons in captivity and I am always eager to learn and research new methods and tips to help better my husbandry techniques and help others do so with theirs.
People are often under the misconception that panther chameleons are very difficult to maintain, fortunately this is not the case and as long as their requirements are fully understood and met then they can be a very easy and rewarding pet to care for.
There are five basic requirements you have to consider when keeping a chameleon
- heating
- lighting
- ventilation
- hydration
- nutrition
There are however many other minor factors to consider but if you master these five then you are well on your way to keeping a happy and healthy chameleon.
